Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for a Stairlift Grant
1. Arrange a Free Home Stairlift Survey
Contact Beechfield Stairlifts to book a free home survey. A specialist will visit your home to assess your needs, recommend the most suitable stairlift, and provide a quote. This step kickstarts the process and ensures you have the necessary details for your grant application.
2. Identify Your Local County Council
Find the contact details for your local County Council below, as they will process your stairlift grant application.
Requirements and processes may vary depending on your area, so it’s important to contact the correct council.
3. Check Eligibility and Requirements
Reach out to your local County Council to confirm the specific eligibility criteria and documentation needed for the stairlift grant.
4. Download the Application Form
Access the key form, Application Form Housing Adaptation Grants for Older People and Disabled People, from your County Council’s website.

5. Gather Necessary Documentation
Prepare all required documents as outlined by your County Council. This may include proof of income, medical evidence, an Occupational Therapist (OT) report or other supporting materials.

6. Submit Your Application

7. Await Assessment and Approval
Your application will be assessed by the council. If approved, you may receive funding of up to €8,000 towards the cost of a new stairlift, which often covers the full expense.
8. Install Your Stairlift
Once approved, you can proceed with purchasing and installing your stairlift. Ensure you follow any guidelines provided by the council.
