Stairlift In Laois. February 2019

Our installation team recently completed an installation of a stairlift in Laois. The customer, who lives in Rathdowney, needed a stairlift to help her special needs daughter to travel up and down the stairs independently.

The client had reasearched stairlift companies online and when she contacted our stairlift support team, we arranged for our local stairlift expert Enda to visit her home.

At Beechfield Stairlifts, all of our customers avail of our complimentary stairlift suitability process. This process initially starts with the first phone call where they chat with our stairlift customer service team. At this time, we book in a free no obligation home assessment and send on any relevant forms such as VAT reclaim or local grant forms.

During the assessment, our stairlift expert visits the home, surveys the stairs and listens to the customers requirements. After chating with the customer, our stairlift expert then explains the various options available and will reccomend a stairlift that best suits their requirements. We then measure and plan the stairlift design as this ensures that the stairlift fits their stairs exactly, and is custom made and fitted to their specific stairs. Every stairlift we fit has been taoilored not just to the clients requirements, but also to the homes staircase.

Our customer in Rathdowney chose the Handicare 2000 because of its dual rail which provides extra stability for the user. The seat has a foldable seat and footplate which can make the stairlift more discreet; this allows the stairs to be unobstructed for use by other people in the home. The powered mechanism in the swivel seat will turn the chair to face the landing and then assist the user in getting off the chair. The remote-controlled lift comes with two controls which can be kept at separate ends of the stairs. It comes in three standard colours of a light grey, gunmetal grey or brown with a neutral sand coloured seat that’s easy to clean. A big benefit of this stairlift is the built-in safety feature for meeting obstacles on the stairs. If the stairlift meets an obstacle, it will automatically stop and not move again until the obstruction is removed.

Once the customer was happy with the design and price, we scheduled a date with our installation team to visit the home and fit the stairlift in Laois. Our team installed the stanchions to the steps of the stairs, this ensures no damage to the walls, and then then fitted the custom rail which neatly followed the angles of the wall. The stairlift installation was complete and ready to use within a few hours and our installation team then adjusted the seat to suit the user, and gave a demonstration of how to use the stairlift controls. They showed the customer the function of each button on the controls, how to fold the powered seat and how to fold the manual footplate. After the demonstration was over, our team cleaned up the area where they were working, leaving it clean and tidy.

The customer was very pleased with the standard of work that Beechfield Stairlifts had provided her with, and she is looking forward to making her child’s life easier with the addition of this stairlift in her home in Rathdowney.
